Mackenzie McDonald, a UCLA junior from Piedmont in the San Francisco Bay Area, heads this year's NCAA Division I All-America teams in singles and doubles.
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the teams this week.
McDonald, only 5-foot-10 (1.78 meters) and 145 pounds (66 kilograms), was named an All-American in singles for the third straight season. Last month, he became the first man to sweep the NCAA singles and doubles titles since Mathias Boeker of Georgia 15 years ago.
The last woman to accomplish the feat was Nicole Gibbs of Stanford in 2012. Gibbs is now ranked No. 75 in the world in singles.
Also earning All-America honors in singles on Thursday were Stanford sophomore Tom Fawcett, Cal senior Klara Fabikova and Cal junior Maegan Manasse.
To earn All-America status in singles, a player either must have been seeded in the top 16 in the NCAA Championships, reached the round of 16 in the NCAAs or finished among the top 20 in the rankings.
The corresponding criteria in doubles are a top-eight seeding, a quarterfinal finish or a top-10 ranking.
